Direct Services and Support
Over the course of the year, Centraide supported
more than 375 community agencies and projects,
which together provided:
— thousands of daily meals,
— social inclusion activities,,
— emergency support services for vulnerable
populations.
These 375 agencies reached nearly 800,000
people in the Greater Montreal area.
Targeted investments and additional funding:
— $972,270 for homelessness services (+31% vs. 2023-2024).
— $429,937 for Indigenous agencies (+57%), which enabled the expansion
of emergency and culturally safe services in a context of growing needs.
— Over $1M to support asylum seekers, individuals without status, or
temporary residents in Canada, including temporary workers.
— $586,595 for housing agencies (+20%), to promote access to adequate
and affordable housing and mitigate the risk of homelessness in a
context of housing crisis and strong rental market pressures.
